THE EGÓ STORY

The Creator

EGÓ was created by Icelandic perfumer Ágúst Kristinn Eðvarðsson as a way to explore identity through scent.

His interest in fragrance began with a fascination for how something invisible could completely change the way a person feels, carries themselves and is remembered by others. What started as curiosity gradually became an obsession with raw materials, composition and the process of building a fragrance from the ground up.

For Ágúst, EGÓ has always been about more than simply smelling good. The idea behind the brand comes from the fact that you can reinvent yourself with a fragrance. So with EGÓ fragrances the wearer can be the different versions of him self that appear depending on where we are, who we are with and who we want to become.

Every fragrance begins with an idea, a mood or a character and is developed personally by Ágúst until it feels complete. From the scent itself to the imagery, packaging and world surrounding it, EGÓ is an extension of his own creative perspective.

The result is an indipendant  fragrance house from Iceland built around individuality, transformation and the belief that scent can become part of who you are.

The design process

Every EGÓ product is designed by the Creator as a complete world, not just a fragrance.

The process often begins with a feeling, a character or a visual idea long before the final product takes shape. From there, the scent, name, packaging, imagery and overall identity are developed together so that every element feels connected.

Nothing is added simply for decoration. The materials, colours, typography, textures and small details are chosen to reflect the personality of the fragrance and the story behind it. Sometimes the visual direction inspires the scent, and sometimes the fragrance itself determines how the product should look and feel.

Each concept goes through its own process of experimentation and refinement. Packaging may be adjusted repeatedly, artwork reworked, materials changed and ideas stripped back until everything feels intentional.

For EGÓ, the design of a product is just as important as the fragrance inside it. The goal is to create something that feels complete from the first impression to the final spray.

How EGÓ fragrances are made

Every EGÓ fragrance begins long before it reaches the bottle.

Each scent is developed by the perfumer Ágúst through a careful process of experimentation, refinement and obsession. A fragrance can go through countless versions before it ever feels finished. Some ideas come together quickly, while others take months, sometimes longer of adjusting materials, rebuilding accords and testing different directions until every element feels exactly where it should be.

There is no fixed number of trials and no shortcut to the final formula. A fragrance is only finished when the perfumer is completely satisfied with it.

The perfumer is equally selective about what goes into each composition. his fragrances are created using high-quality raw materials sourced from around the world. From natural extracts and essential oils to modern aroma molecules chosen for their character, performance and quality.

Once the formula is complete, the fragrance concentrate is blended with Icelandic alcohol and produced by hand in small batches of 300 bottles. Each batch is carefully measured, mixed and handled to maintain consistency from bottle to bottle.

EGÓ fragrances are produced according to established cosmetic and fragrance standards, and every formula is created in accordance with IFRA guidelines.

For EGÓ, making fragrance is not simply about combining ingredients. It is about taking an idea, a feeling or a version of yourself and turning it into something you can wear.
